Oppo Find N5: The Thinnest and Most Powerful Foldable Yet?

The foldable smartphone market is poised for a significant leap forward with the anticipated release of the Oppo Find N5. Building upon the successes of its predecessors, Oppo aims to redefine the standards of design and performance in the foldable segment. As of February 2025, here’s an in-depth look at what we can expect from this groundbreaking device.

Launch Timeline

Industry insiders suggest that the Oppo Find N5 is slated for launch in the first half of 2025, with some reports indicating a debut as early as February. This timeline positions Oppo to capture early market attention and set a high bar for competitors in the foldable smartphone arena.

Design and Build

Oppo has always been at the forefront of innovative design, and the Find N5 is no exception. Leaked images and teasers reveal an ultra-thin profile, making it one of the slimmest foldable phones to date. The device is expected to feature a 3D-printed titanium hinge, contributing to its lightweight yet durable construction. This design not only enhances portability but also ensures robustness, addressing common concerns associated with foldable devices.

Display

The Find N5 is rumored to boast a 7.56-inch foldable LTPO AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, ensuring smooth visuals and an immersive viewing experience. The inclusion of Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection underscores Oppo’s commitment to durability, providing resistance against scratches and accidental drops.

Camera System

Photography enthusiasts will appreciate the Find N5’s versatile camera setup. The device is anticipated to feature a triple rear camera system, each with a 50MP sensor. This includes a periscope lens for enhanced optical zoom capabilities and an ultra-wide lens for capturing expansive scenes. On the front, a 32MP camera is expected to cater to high-quality selfies and video calls.

Battery and Charging

Battery life is a critical aspect of any smartphone, and the Find N5 doesn’t disappoint. It’s rumored to house a substantial 6,000mAh battery, supporting 120W fast charging and 50W wireless charging. This ensures that users can quickly recharge their device and stay connected throughout the day.

Software and Connectivity

Running on ColorOS 15, based on Android 15, the Find N5 is expected to offer a seamless and intuitive user experience. Notably, the device is rumored to support Tiantong satellite communication, providing advanced connectivity options. Additionally, it boasts an IPX8 water resistance rating, offering protection against water ingress.

Global Availability

While the Oppo Find N5 is set to debut in China, global consumers need not worry. The device is expected to be marketed internationally as the OnePlus Open 2, reflecting the close collaboration between Oppo and OnePlus. This strategy ensures that the innovative features of the Find N5 will be accessible to a broader audience.
